"Be" - Becoming As Life Is Going

Part 1 of the series "Be,Do,Have"

I have been thinking a lot about the principles of life that govern a lot of what we do. A principle being a fundamental truth or proposition, and it lead me to the principle of “Be,Do,Have.” This exploration was sparked by insights from one of my favorite thinkers, Myron Golden, who illuminated this principle's roots stretching back to the very first pages of Genesis. Golden invites us to consider its depth and its power to shape our lives from the ground up.  The way my curious mind works is I want to deep dive into all three parts of this principle with the intention of shining some light on each section. Not only to better understand it for myself but to also illuminate it for my audience of deep thinkers as well.

So, let's dive into the heart of this series with "Be" — a concept that's all about discovering who we truly are. Have you ever taken a moment, in the quiet(I take a lot of these moments if I’m being honest), to really think about what it means to be you? To consider your thoughts, your actions, the way you speak, and how you show up in the world every day? It's a profound reflection that goes beyond the surface, touching the essence of our dreams and goals.

The reason we start here, with "Be," is simple yet profound. It's the first domino that sets everything else in motion. If we don't embody the traits of the person we dream of becoming, we're stuck. It's about the little things — being punctual, reliable, willing to sacrifice immediate pleasures for future gains. Which seems to be the most difficult in this tumultuous time of instant gratification.  These aren't just good habits; they're the building blocks of a life that stands out.

Think about it — many of us dream of wealth, of achieving that millionaire status. But dreaming isn't enough. It's about being that millionaire in the here and now, in the way we work, save, and invest. It requires a shift in identity, stepping out of comfort zones, shedding the layers of doubt, trauma, and scarcity mindset. It's a challenge, sure, but it's our responsibility to rise to it. I realized my whole adult life has been about getting to the core of who I am. I realized this while sitting on the beach in Bali and just reflecting on the things that lead to that particular moment. It took me understanding that taking the conventional route was never in my DNA. I know the creative path I was going to go on was going to take A LOT of time and figuring out just who I was at my core. I made that decision a long time ago to step out of my comfort zone and was just now seeing the rewards from it. We can’t skip steps on this journey either.

Skipping the "Be" step and jumping straight to "Do" is like building a house on sand. Without the foundation of a transformed self, the first sign of trouble can bring everything crashing down. Becoming is an ongoing process, a journey without a final destination. It's about continuous growth, becoming more aligned with our highest selves, more creative, more fruitful.

As we gear up to explore "Do" and "Have" in our upcoming letters, I want to remind you that success isn't just a far-off dream. It's waiting for us, right here, right now. It begins with becoming. As Jim Rohn famously said, "Success is something you attract by the person you become." Let's take that to heart and start living as the people we were meant to be.

This journey we're on together is deeply personal. It's about embracing every moment as an opportunity for growth, for living our true "Kaizen" — continuous improvement. It's about being excited for what's to come, knowing that with each step, we're preparing to receive the gifts of the next.

Here's to our journey of becoming. Let's make it one filled with deep reflection, growth, and, most importantly, heart.

With all my warmth and encouragement. :)
