Can You Stand The Rain? Life’s Seasons.

It's Just Weather Bro

In order to realize the worth of the anchor we need to feel the stress of the storm. ~ Corrie Ten Boom

First off..My boy in that picture is going through it ain’t he? lol Why would you be out there like this?

Anyway…

We've all experienced those days.

When it’s raining endlessly, and you find yourself wondering.

"WHEN is this shit going to stop?" you ask. Like really? It’s been raining this whole week and it’s Raining on my parade. (Did that actually happen? Is that where the phrase came from?) Missy Elliots - “Superfly” is playing in my head as i’m typing this.

It's fascinating how a small change in weather can entirely shift our mood.

The last time this happened I started to wonder how this applies to the trials and challenges in our lives?

Life has its storms—moments of despair, uncertainty, and difficulties that can leave us feeling lost. And like we want to crawl in bed and eat a box of honeybuns, or maybe thats just me? Whatever.

Just like rain, these trials may bring sadness or force us to cancel plans.

But here's the trick… they will stop. Seriously they will stop.

Just as the clouds eventually give way to sunlight, tough times have their season too. So put a smile on that beautiful face(after you wash it) and let’s dive in.

Understanding the Nature of Life's Seasons⛈️🌤️🌼

Like all the patterns of weather, life follows a rhythm.

The storms that batter us are part of this natural ebb and flow.

I had to learn myself that there are peaks and there are valleys and I just have to figure out which one i’m in. I technically live in the valley of California and it’s Hot AF(my LA residents will understand).

But..The beauty lies in realizing that no matter how intense the struggle, it will come to an end.

Even in our darkest moments, we KNOW that the sun will rise again.

Just as the Earth obeys certain laws, life has its conditions.

Yet, within them, lies the potential for growth and success.

Like preparing for a forecasted storm, equipping ourselves with the right tools and mindset helps us thrive even in challenging circumstances.

Rising Above the Clouds☁️

Even when the skies are cloudy and the rain pours relentlessly, there exists a serene realm above the clouds.

Stevie Wonder said there is a Ribbon in the sky, so we got to find that ribbon. Now idk what color it is but the point is, it’s there.

This is where you can soar, transcending the immediate challenges and finding solace.

Elevate your perspective by nourishing your mind and body. Like put down that McDonalds, yes I see you, put it down!(Y’all really gotta chill eating them fish filet sandwiches, STOP)

Engage in practices that lift your spirits, raise your frequency, and empower you to navigate life's storms.

In the face of adversity, remind yourself it's just weather. Say it out loud if you have too. Maybe not in front of people cause you may be looked at crazy but you get what I’m saying.

Just as clouds eventually disperse, hardships fade away.

Just remember the sun was never truly gone; it was merely obscured for a time.

Your inner light will shine and guide you through the darkest of days. *Cue Commodores - “Easy” (My young-ins just google the song if you are confused)

Embracing the Sunshine🌞

As we journey through life's changing weather, let's embrace the beauty in each moment.

Just as rain is essential for growth, challenges foster resilience and wisdom.

When you encounter life's storms, hold onto the knowledge that you are equipped to weather them. Look in the mirror like Issa Rae in Insecure and say “I’m him/her” or whatever your pronouns may be. Just say the shit. And feel good about it!

The sun's warmth will return, and you'll emerge even stronger.

Actionable Steps When You’re In The Storm

So you don’t get blown away by the storm, I want to give you a few actionable steps I use when i’m in the midst of life’s storms. These get me back to my creative self and hopefully they can help you as well.

  1. Think from the gain and not the gap - Essentially ,I reflect on the past storms that I have been in and how far I have gotten. This helps me realize that this is just a pattern in life and it will be over soon. Focus on the things I HAVE and not the things I DO NOT.

  2. Change my environment - I get around friends and family, who will pour into me in these times that I feel empty. Maybe I’ll rearrange my home for new energy, or take a walk in a nice park and just enjoy the sun. Use this grand earth that God gave us to remember the beauty in life and not the despair.

  3. Journal - I get it out of my mind and down on paper. It’s good to journal because it is also an act of creation and it can help you remember how powerful you are. Getting thoughts out of your head is a release that is essential when going through turbulent times.

So, Fam, when the clouds gather and the rain falls, remember that it's all a part of the grand symphony of life. The symphony could sound like Drill music or it could sound like Beyonce, but its all about the peaks and valleys.

Embrace the storms, cause they are fleeting, and they pave the way for the return of brighter days.

Until next time, may you find strength in life's ever-changing weather.

And seriously…stop eating MCDONALDS.

Love you guys :)
