Honestly...Let It Go

A Pivot Of The Ego

“Holding on is believing that there’s only a past; letting go is knowing that there’s a future.” – Daphne Rose Kingma

Its Time..

This week, I've confronted a universal struggle: The resistance to letting go.

Opportunities that could pivot life in a remarkable direction often bring a paradoxical sense of being lost. I realized that my apprehension to letting go stemmed from a fear of releasing an old version of myself. The one that's been evolving over the past year through changes in diet, thought, health - in essence, everything.

The reluctance to let go was fueled by societal pressures and self-doubt. Questions like "What will people think?" and "Am I qualified enough?" echoed in my mind, highlighting insecurities that, in the grand scheme of things, hold no weight. After all, our legacy is not defined by the opinions of others but by the impact we make and the lives we touch.

A recent shift in perspective has liberated me from these fears. My decision making now comes from a place of courage and authenticity, not ego. For YEARS i have let the Ego have it’s way, nah bro, no more. Discussions with trusted advisors and long time friends have illuminated my path for the coming years, bringing a newfound clarity and excitement for the future. I entered those conversations timid, worried, down bad. I came up lifted, confident, and excited for whats to come. For that, i want to thank those that seen in me what i could not see in myself.

Sharing these reflections on letting go is not just cathartic but also a beacon for anyone facing similar challenges. I was vulnerable for the first time in a ling time on my social media this week, which in turn resulted in a wave of support and sentiments echoed back. Made me realize that there is glue inside of vulnerability that pulls all of us together. The journey into the unknown is daunting, but it pales in comparison to the regret of an unlived life.

As I venture into this new chapter, brimming with wisdom and potential, I encourage you to do the same. Let creativity lead the way. Toss fear to the side. Let's extend our hands to the possibilities that await when we bravely close one chapter to begin a whole other book. 😃

Actionable Steps to Letting Go:

  • Acknowledge the Fear: Take a moment to recognize what's holding you back. Is it fear of the unknown, worry about others' opinions, or a sense of unpreparedness?

  • Seek Counsel: Talk to people you trust those who have your best interests at heart. They can offer perspective and alignment with your inner truths.

  • Embrace Your Evolution: Reflect on the ways you've changed and grown over time. Recognize that evolution is a part of life.

  • Let Go of Control: Understand what you can control and let go of what you can't. Focus on your actions and attitudes rather than the outcomes.

  • Listen to Your Heart: Make decisions based on what feels right to you, not what you think is expected of you.

  • Open to New Beginnings: Be willing to close old chapters to make room for new experiences that bring learning and growth.

  • Share Your Story: Your journey can inspire others. Don't hesitate to share your experiences and insights.

Peace,
